50 + 10 GALERIEN "Jewellery Art to wear" is the title of the book published for the tenth anniversary of the Gallery founded in 1990. This is also Renate Slaviks favourite definition of contemporary jewellery art. The unique pieces of art, each an unparalleled original, is what Renate Slavik has taken to heart and treasures in her gallery. The visitor perceives this attitude as soon as she or he enters the place. Personal attention coupled with plenty of time and dedication creates a pleasant background for an encounter with contemporary jewellery art. In twelve exhibitions per year, the Gallery presents the signed works of international artists. The Gallery premises designed by Tomas and Edmund Hoke are of equally unique character. Blending the art of sculpture and architecture, the two brothers stroke a synthesis that not only creates an ideal backdrop for the precious exhibition pieces, but has become a Vienna city centre attraction as an objet dart in itself for insiders. |
