The exhibition title, Re-view, serves as a diversified projection surface for a retrospective of the recent history of Austrian jewellery, for a renewed analysis of it s achievements outside of traditional thought patterns, and for an outlook on it s immediate relevance and emerging trends and changes. On the basis of selected pieces of jewellery-making by fifty Austrian artists from six decades, the development of Austrian jewellery making will be presented from a perspective of cultural history that illustrates how closely jewellery – as a “metaphor for everyday life” - is enmeshed with the vocal points of societal trends.
