Jewellery portraits

Nicola Heidemann, Halsschmuck “Ein buntes Grau”, Gold, Silber, Kupfer.

With the exhibition “Jewelry Portraits” Gallery Slavik presents three very different positions of contemporary jewellery: Alexandra Brachtendorf, Nicola Heidemann and Christine Matthias. They have been closely associated with the gallery for many years. We are therefore pleased to present their new works to you.

The artists represent very different positions in contemporary jewellery art. What they have in common is originality of expression and uncompromising craftmanship.

Alexandra Brachtendorf is known for her nuanced surfaces, which create a fascinating effect of light and shadow on the material gold. Interested in architectural constructions, she plays with forms and their variations.

“I dream jewellery, I am curious about what develops in an everlasting dialogue between nature and me,” says Nicola Heidemann. The flash blue in combination with warm gold and green tones gives her creations made of lightweight titanium a pull that you cannot escape.

Christine Matthias loves the material silver in correspondence with filigree pearl or gemstone strings. Her versatile oeuvre is characterised by austerity and playfulness, the fluidity and the formal versatility of the pieces of jewellery in movement.

We invite you, your friends and all jewellery enthusiasts to marvel at these multifaceted “jewellery portraits”.

Sincerely,

Renate Slavik & Team
